Report Card Notes:
The dollar value of this box was great but I have seen better from PopSugar. This was a cute box but it didn't WOW me like past boxes. there was no one item that impressed me significantly. I like the diffusers and I will use them but you can get them on clearance for around $3-$5 at TJ Maxx and they are a dime a dozen... they are everywhere. The hair ties are another thing that are just everywhere and you can get them super cheap or make them on your own for even less. I will use the hair ties but I now have at least 70 of these things so I would say enough is enough! The book was nice touch but but I looked through it in a few minutes and there wasn't one thing that made me stop and say "OMG, I have to make that!" and with a book like this I would say that almost everything should do that or what's the point? I use online resources for all of this stuff so while it's a cute table top piece I already looked through it once and I am done... maybe I can sell it on eBay? The coasters are cute and I will use them but again, they are cheap cardboard coasters that are everywhere and you can pick up 100 of them at thrift store for $10 yet these retail for $16.. hmm... The floral pattern on the coaster is cute but it is not to die for. I was very impressed with the Shoptiques.com $25 gift card until I went online and checked out the website. You really have to dig around to find anything below $50 that is well made and cute. They have pretty pictures but it's mostly just eye candy. When you look up close you can see that some of the stuff is superly duperly over priced. The snacks they included were new to me and they were super yummy and healthy so I was quite please with those!! PopSugar's packaging and branding is always clean, fresh and fun. Their referral program is very user friendly and easy to manage but being that the referrals are for an almost $40 box they could offer a little more back in dollar value. I also recently found out that they cap referral credits at 10 boxes which means you can't just start over with referrals once you hit 10. This was extremely disappointing for me since I do tend to send quite a few referrals!! Maybe I can just cancel one account and reopen another account as a loophole for this problem.. we shall see when the time comes. Hopefully they will work with me. This box brought me some useful but over priced products that I will use but just didn't get me excited. It would be nice to see them work with the theme more each month... This month's theme was about DIY but the only DIY item they included was the book... huh? All and all I liked this month's box and the dollar value was there if you look at retail prices on these items but I just didn't love it... I still look forward to my PopSugar boxes because you never know what you are going to get!
